As AI becomes more embedded in artistic practice, the boundaries of authorship are shifting. Tools trained on vast cultural archives now generate sound, image, and text with evolving fluency. AI opens new creative possibilities—accelerating workflows, sparking unexpected ideas, and broadening access to artistic tools. But it also raises concerns: authorship becomes blurred.
Is authenticity a matter of origin, intention, or effect?
If someone is moved by an artwork—does it matter how it was made?
Does knowing a work was created by a machine diminish its emotional impact, or does it simply shift the criteria by which we judge it? In a culture increasingly shaped by synthetic systems, what are we willing to accept as authentic, and how does process shape our perception of value, meaning, and artistic integrity?
